Professionally
As a problem-solving enthusiast with a passion for empowering others, I thrive on challenges both big and small. With a background in software development, teaching, and design, I bring a unique perspective to every project I work on. Whether it's a complex UX problem or a tight deadline, I have the experience and skills to help my team overcome any obstacle. I've learned which steps in the design process are critical, and which can be skipped to get a product out the door and into the hands of customers for valuable insights. As a collaborative team player, I enjoy lending a hand to get things over the finish-line and empowering my colleagues to do their best work. If you're looking for a designer and leader who can integrate seamlessly with your team and deliver exceptional results, let's chat.
Personally
As someone who believes in the power of compassion and open-mindedness, I strive to approach every situation with curiosity and understanding. I was born and raised in Michigan, but after college, I set out for Hawaii to teach for three years. It was an incredible experience that taught me the value of community and friendship. When I moved to Colorado, I fell in love with all the outdoor activities the state has to offer, from hiking to skiing. When I'm not outdoors, I enjoy spending time with my partner Sarah and our two kids, Luca and Matteo. We recently spent a year abroad in Italy, exploring the culture, learning the language, and pursuing citizenship.
Since returning stateside, I’ve been on a journey to live with greater integrity. I’m focused on using my skills to make a positive impact on the world rather than just driving shareholder value. I believe that, given the opportunity, humanity can achieve remarkable things, and I’m seeking a team that shares this vision.
Here are a few of my core values: equal rights are human rights, silence is violence, and we should always strive to do our best and learn from our mistakes. In my free time, you can usually find me hanging with the family, growing mushrooms, playing video games or working on home improvement projects. I believe that what we do today will shape our children's tomorrow, and I try to model the values I hold dear in everything I do, including my work as a designer.
